What'z Up?

Day 1 (22 Jun 09). For the 3rd Generation SAF to realise its vision to be a First Class Organisation with World Class People, the topic of creating a more effective learning environment, that improves the quality of our people, is never far off. The Action Learning Process -or ALP, was introduced in 2008 and widely proliferated across the SAF. For learning to be effective, the environment needs to be conducive to learning, allowing our learners space and time to interact within the learning and the instructional processes. The 2009 SAF Learning Festival would be the biggest such event organised by any military in the region. This demonstrates SAF's emphasis in how could the organisation best engage the current generation (refer to the learning pyramid below). Creating and maintaining stimulating learning environments can be achieved through effective learning organisation, appropriate interaction and a climate of innovation. While the organisation attempts to improve the quality of learning, other influences in the domians of Motivation and Aptitude of our Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen must simultaneously be addressed to holistically revamp the learning experience at the systemic level.
